A diagnostic procedure evaluating the urinary tract and bladder with a camera.
Cystoscopy examines the urethra and inside of the bladder with a thin camera. It is used diagnostically for blood in urine, recurrent infection, bladder stones and suspected tumors. It is performed under local anesthesia or light sedation.
Discomfort is minimized with anesthesia; mild burning may occur.
Mild burning for a few days; plenty of fluids advised.
