Migraine botox is the injection of botulinum toxin into specific points of the head and neck in chronic migraine unresponsive to medication. It reduces attack frequency and severity, improving quality of life. It is done in outpatient settings.
The effect usually lasts 3 months and can be repeated.
Usually well tolerated; temporary injection-site tenderness may occur.
