EMG measures the electrical conduction of nerves and muscles to diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve compressions, nerve damage from disc herniation, and muscle diseases. It is an important tool for hand-foot numbness and weakness complaints.
It may cause mild discomfort; it is usually well tolerated and brief.
Evaluation is mostly done right after the procedure.
